When will Gesynd be available?

Gesynd is coming soon to Google Play. We will post the date here once it is set.

Is there Gesynd for iPhone?

Not yet. Gesynd launches for Android. An iPhone version follows later.

Which watches are supported?

The Knauermann PRO 4 and watches that otherwise run with the G Band app. Garmin is coming. Details under Watches.

Do I need the watch vendor's app?

No. Gesynd replaces it. Close the vendor app before you connect the watch to Gesynd, otherwise it holds on to the connection.

Do I need an account?

No. Gesynd works without sign-up, email address or password.

Where are my values stored?

On your phone, in the app. If you allow it, Gesynd also writes them to Health Connect by Google, which is on your phone too.

What goes online?

Map images for your workout route (OpenFreeMap) and the weather for your watch (Open-Meteo). Your health data never goes along. The app blocks every other connection. Details under Your data.

Does Gesynd work offline?

Reading, viewing and syncing with your watch and Health Connect work without internet. Only maps and weather need a connection.

What is Health Connect?

Health Connect by Google is the store for health values on Android. Apps you allow can read and write there. That way your other apps can use your watch's values too, and Gesynd reads what your other apps store there.

Can I export workouts?

Export every workout with a route as GPX or TCX, for example for other training apps.

Can I analyse my data on a computer?

Gesynd exports all your data in the Apple Health export format, with workout routes as GPX and ECGs as CSV. Open the file on your computer in KIWI Health. The software turns it into analyses and reports. It runs on Windows 10 and 11, and on a Mac in a virtual machine with Windows 10 or 11.

How do I back up my values?

Gesynd creates an encrypted backup that you store wherever you want. It can only be opened with your recovery code.

Is Gesynd a medical device?

No. Gesynd shows the values your watch measures. Not a medical device, no diagnosis. For questions about your health, talk to your doctor.
