Gesynd stores everything on your phone. No account, no cloud, no ads, no tracking. And the watch vendor's data transfer is blocked.

What goes online
The phone with your values sits inside a shield. Two connections are allowed: map images from OpenFreeMap and weather from Open-Meteo. The watch vendor's tracking and every other server are blocked. The promise

Four commitments, enforced in code.

  • On your phone

    Your values live in the app on your phone. There is no Gesynd server collecting them.

  • No account

    No sign-up, no email address, no password. Open the app and connect your watch.

  • No ads, no tracking

    No advertising, no analytics services, no profile of you.

  • Health Connect with permission

    Gesynd only reads and writes the data types you allow. Revoke at any time.

Network

Three addresses. Nothing else.

Gesynd may reach exactly three servers. The app blocks every other connection before it starts. Your health data never goes along.

  • tiles.openfreemap.orgMap images for your workout route, when you open a map. The server sees which map section you look at.
  • api.open-meteo.comThe weather for your watch, if you turn it on. With a location rounded to about 1 km, or the place you choose.
  • geocoding-api.open-meteo.comThe place search for the weather, when you look up a place by name.
Privacy

Vendor software

The watch vendor's tracking is blocked.

The software that watches of this kind use to communicate tries to send data to the vendor's servers in China after every connection. Gesynd does not let these connections through.

Backup

Only one person can open your backup: you.

Gesynd encrypts every backup with a 256-bit key. You get it as a recovery code of 56 characters. We do not know it and cannot recover it.

gesynd.com sets no cookies, counts no visitors and loads nothing from other servers, not even fonts. That is why there is no cookie banner here.
